Produced by Rod and Marion Pintello, You Can’t Get There From Here is a comical play about a small southern town and the three women who run it, along with The Mavis Garner Bed and Breakfast, where everyone who hits the town pothole must stay while their car is repaired. They’re upfront about their love for the country life, but the town has some secrets, too. When the first reporter shows up, it’s trouble for Liz and Myrtle, but may be a bit of romance for Ann.

The cast features seven South County stage veterans, with Rosalind Farotte and Pat Cianci as sisters Liz and Myrtle, Amber Marince as their great-niece who falls for the skittish reporter from the big city, played by Amber’s real-life husband, Evan Lange. The editor of the local paper, played by Carol Harris, deals with the out-of-town journalists, played by Jennifer Langford and Dale Haluza. The show is friendly and warm and -- as expected at the Pintello Comedy Theater – funny.

The playwright, Pat Cook, has written a number of plays about small towns and the interesting characters who live in them. Rod Pintello says he knew he wanted to direct this comedy from the very first reading. “Every role is a character role. These people are interesting and wise, and innately funny, each in her own way.”
