Directed by Marion Pintello
With a comedy, a love story, and a mystery wrapped in witty dialogue, Pintello Comedy Theater continues its current season with another sparkling play by one of their favorite playwrights, Norm Foster. Opening a four-week run on April 14th, the play features Rod Pintello as a successful, but cantankerous author who decides one evening to finally get to know his maid of 28 years – starting with her first name! Holding her own in the engaging repartee which follows is Ariane Borgia as the self-educated housekeeper.
This play, the 58th production in Pintello Comedy Theater’s fifteen-year history, opens on Friday, April 14, 2017, and runs Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m. for four weekends, closing on Saturday, May 6. One matinee performance will be presented on Sunday, April 30, at 2 p.m.
Forty-nine scripts into a prolific and acclaimed career, Norm Foster continues to offer something fresh and exciting with each and every playwrighting effort. His latest play is being presented at the Norm Foster Festival in St. Catharines, Ontario, where Rod and Marion Pintello attended the premiere and met with Mr. Foster. They agreed with critics that his newest work is as funny and enthralling as his first hit play 30 years ago. The Pintellos have produced fourteen of Foster’s works, in fact both Pintello and Borgia have previously appeared on this stage in Norm Foster plays, as title characters in a duet of productions, “Sadie Flynn Comes to Big Oak” and “Ned Durango Comes to Big Oak.”
Reservations and information are online at www.PintelloComedy.com or by calling (408) 337-1599, or email Pintello@charter.net. As always, the Pintello family will be on hand to welcome patrons to the historic Gilroy Grange Hall at 8191 Swanston Drive in Gilroy. “We are now featuring local wines, as well as coffee and refreshments,” notes producer Rod Pintello.
Bringing four new comedies to the stage each year at the Grange Hall is a labor of love, says the Pintello family, adding that they’re very happy with the central location off Leavesley Road between Monterey and Forest. “We’re very pleased with the enthusiasm of our audiences. Our patrons have become friends.” They’re sure you’ll agree with their motto, “There’s something funny going on here!”
